WELCOME OFFICER DEREK CHALMERS! Meet our new SRO for the upcoming school year! I am Officer Derek Chalmers and I am excited to get to work with you!! A little about me... I worked for Morgan County Sheriff's Office for 10 years and recently made the change to Bountiful PD and love it. I still live in Morgan City with my wife and three kids ages 8, 4, and 2. I was an SRO for Morgan for 3 years where I covered all schools (2 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, and a high school). I was then back on patrol for two years and then personally requested back by the school admin to 2 two more years in the schools. I also coach track at Morgan High so I am very involved in the youth. Being an SRO has been my favorite assignment in law enforcement so far. So when Bountiful gave me a chance to keep doing it, I was stoked!

The library will be CLOSED on July 21st - but will be open the following Tuesday, July 28, from 10-11:30 am. The final day of Open Library is August 4th (all books to be returned).

Happy Read-A-Thon day! Camp Reads A Lot came through and read well over 2,000 pages! Thank you to all who came and participated. We also want to send our thanks to our read-a-thon sponsors. Thank you Utah Community Builders, Utah Rising, Boyer, and Ivory Foundation for making this event possible. Additional thanks to Cherry Hill and Boondocks for donating prizes. Getting children excited about reading takes a community effort and our community really came through for our kids! #DavisReads

Tomorrow is the day! Join us in the library for our " Camp Reads A Lot" Read-a-thon from 10-12. There will be snacks and raffle prizes for reading. Our goal is to read 2,000 pages in 2 hours. We're going to need everyone's help! See you there!

Join Davis Reads 45 this summer! Students are challenged to read for 45 days, earning prizes every 5 days and a special end-of-summer event for those who complete the challenge. Pick up books during summer library hours. Families should check with their local elementary school for specific days and times. Regular summer reading helps prevent learning loss and supports continued academic growth. Contact your school or library to get started!

The kids went wild at the end-of-year assembly when teachers and administrators broke out the “Chicken Dance!” 🐔🎉 The gym was filled with laughter, cheering, and so much excitement as students watched their teachers join in the fun. It was a great way to celebrate an amazing school year together and create memories our students will never forget. Oak Hills knows how to work hard, celebrate big, and have fun together! 🦅
