Hello Oak Hills families, I am so excited to be working here with all these amazing children. Working with kids is a passion of mine and I am honored to be teaching and supporting the students here at Oak Hills. My background in education starts in CA where I taught elementary school for 14 years. While in the classroom, I saw a need for students who were struggling with difficult emotions and behaviors, which hindered their ability to become their best self at school and in their personal lives.  It was through these observations that I decided to go back to school to get my Master's degree in school counseling, so I could become a stronger support system for all students. As a counselor, it is my pleasure to support and teach children how to identify and manage difficult emotions, learn how to have power over their thinking and feelings and actions, make positive choices, make and keep friends, solve conflicts, and many  more valuable life skills that will shape them into becoming the best version of themselves throughout their lives.

As a mother of three children and three bonus children from a former spouse, ages 19 down to 9, I have a lot of empathy and love for all children. I understand the many difficulties and challenges that arise in children's lives in the school, family, and community settings. Having been through many family challenges and personal struggles,  I understand the needs and challenges many children and their families face every day. It is my mission to be one of the trusted, positive, safe, supportive adults in my students' lives. I want to be someone they can talk to and seek counsel from in times of need. I also love to celebrate student achievement and successes and welcome kids to talk to me about all the positive things happening in their lives. Please reach out to me if there is anything I can do to help support your student in any way. I strive to be the advocate for academic success, social/emotional wellbeing, and career awareness for all the students I work with. I believe family and school connection is vital in assuring students the best chance to meet their full potential. Together we are a team supporting and cheering your student/s on, and I am excited to be part of your child's lives.
